HIGH ENERGY REAGENT TECHNOLOGY - HERT SYSTEMS
Over Fire Air (OFA) is coupled with reagent injection to control nitrogen oxide emissions. Up to 65% NOx reductions achievable. The OFA system stages combustion for an initial reduction. A high energy chemical agent follows the OFA into the proper temperature window to optimize the NOx conversion. Fewer injectors are required than a typical SNCR system.
HOW IT WORKS
OFA reduces NOx by staging combustion. The reajent breaks down to NH3 and reacts with NOx in the post combustion zone to form H2O
and N2. Technology functions in temperature window beyond
typical SNCR to eliminate NH3 slip.
COMPUTER SIMULATION
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling is used in conjunction with test data to design the OFA system and predict NOx reduction potential. Injector style and locations are determined prior to fabrication.
